The island has two main areas, Saguenay and the Valley of the Giants. We learned about the story of the great giant Humboldt, who was the god of iron. In all the mountain peaks, and in the valley, there are huge anchors that are sunken into the rock. They used to be in the ocean so if the great Humboldt wanted to move or go anywhere, he would have to sacrifice someone to make the anchor light. In the valley, there is also a big volcano, located in the middle of the island. It’s a huge structure, standing at a pretty steep angle. The people thought that the valley was filled with a dark fire when it was first discovered by the Spanish. It’s considered the world’s most intact lava tube.
