Formed in 1986, the Penang Heritage Trust is a registered charity and NGO dedicated to promoting Penang’s cultural and built heritage.
PHT played a major part in the successful campaign to award George Town the status of a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008. With your support, PHT will continue its mission in protecting this status for George Town.
PHT has worked hard to save numerous historical buildings including the Suffolk House, the Hainanese Mariners’ Lodge , the Carpenter’s Guild, the Protestant Cemetery, 26 Church Street (PHT office), and many others. Your participation will help PHT to continue working toward saving the many historical treasures throughout the island.
PHT has organised numerous projects and events to promote the history and living culture of Penang including the Living Heritage Treasures Awards, The Penang Story, The Penang Global Ethic Project, and the Penang Apprenticeship Programme for Artisans (PAPA). Your support makes all of our conservation projects and public education possible.
