Southeast Asian Ceramic Society
By Patricia Follow | Public

Dedicated to the study of Southeast Asian ceramics and related cultural influences. Regular monthly activities include talks, exhibitions and workshops on a wide range of topics ranging from history (regional trade, exploration, economics) to archaeological studies and finds, to maritime shipping history to the art of building a collection. New members benefit from our members' extensive knowledge as well as leading experts in related fields ranging from antique maps to contemporary ceramics. An annual AGM is held every March. Open to all interested in ceramics and its many related subjects, from beginners to advanced collectors. Many programmes include special guest speakers from foreign academic institutions and museums; members are also invited to special closed events visiting members' collections, curator tours, handling workshops and more. Individuals may join by paying an annual dues but many programmes are open to the public as a public service so watch for our public activity notices. Founded in 1969.
