Ever curious on what metalsmith is about, and how metal can be formed and manipulated to create your own accessories? This introductory level metalsmith workshop will be teaching participants how to create their own brass cuff bracelet using traditional metalsmith techniques. Participants can expect to experience firsthand on how to form, hammer, fire, file and finish their very own brass cuff through this introductory level metalsmith workshop. Duration: 3 hours Cost: SGD95 per pax (inclusive of materials) Materials: All materials will be provided, and each participant will be given an individual kit (consisting of brass wire, hammer, needle files, sand paper, and wooden blocks) for them to bring home. Instructors: Stella Lim & Daryl Tan – Designers and Artisans of labels Stale & Co and Stelliyah Program outline1st and 2nd Hour – Detailed breakdown on steps to making brass cuff 1)       Explanation of the nature of brass and types of brass wires2)       Cutting of brass wire and hammering of metal3)       Filing of brass wire4)       Firing up of brass wire5)       Forming of cuff6)       Strengthening of cuff7)       Finishing of brass cuffNote: Instructors will explain and demonstrate each step of making the brass cuff, and after which participants will be allowed time to practice the technique taught. 3rd Hour Participants will be given an hour to make their second cuff or experiment with personal designs under the close supervision of instructors. Instructors might also use this time to share bonus techniques for design enhancements to participants.
