Children will discover the abstract art of this Dutch painter and learn from him to make use of lines and geometric shapes and primary colours to express mood and feelings. As we attempt to explore architecture as an art form in this workshop, children learn to integrate the various elements of art and architecture together like colour, lines and form to create an exciting sculpture.WORKSHOP 2 (5 June): Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style glass designWORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONLight was very important to Frank Lloyd Wright. He designed art glass windows and doors, known as “light screens” for his Prairie style houses. Wright would find his inspiration from nature, then simplify these forms of nature into beautiful geometric shapes and designs. These designs on coloured and clear glass provide both privacy and beauty. In this workshop, children will be introduced to various art glass designs by Wright before they create their own art glass designs inspired by shapes in nature. Concepts of symmetry and asymmetry will be explored. WORKSHOP 3 (12 June): Hundertwasser house (2D)WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONWell-known for his vibrant and colourful works of art, Hundertwasser was both an architect and an artist. He was famous for his unusual shaped buildings, filled with bright colours and flowing lines. Come let your child go on a magical dream-like journey with us through Hundertwasser’s world and explore the endless possibilities of painting to create a fun fantasy-like house of their dream.WORKSHOP 4 (19 June): Hundertwasser House (3D)WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONIn this workshop, children will bring their hundertwasser painting alive by building it a model of it out of clay. For those who missed out on Workshop 3: Hundertwasser House (2D), you can still be inspired by this great Austrian Architect-Artist and design your house in his colourful and vibrant style.t
