Rails Girls KL Beginners Workshop Part 3: Introduction to JavascriptEver wondered how to add interactivity to your website? Or do you already know HTML/CSS and want to take it to the next level?If so, this class is a great way to get started on the wonders of Javascript. HTML/CSS only websites are great at displaying information, but Javascript takes it to the next level by allowing users to interact with it. This class is part 3 of a 4-part workshop series where we will be exploring what it takes to build functional websites. This is a hands-on workshop so remember to bring your laptop and charger with you!PLEASE NOTE: YOU NEED TO KNOW BASIC HTML AND CSS TO ATTEND THIS CLASS! No other programming experience needed. We’ll be learning the basics of programming. We’ll cover ways of manipulating HTML/CSS with Javascript, jQuery (a popular Javascript library that makes it easy to use), and how to handle user interactions (button clicks, hovers, scrolling). You need to be comfortable with HTML and CSS to follow this class. You should be able to create a website from scratch, understand the concepts of class and id and know how to use basic CSS selectors. If you have not had experience with HTML/CSS, please complete this online course before attending this class.Date: June 6th 2015, 9:45am-2pm (Sat).
