Data centers in ASEAN countries have been using electrical chillers (DX, chilled water) for decades. We will tour a green & sustainable facility in Singapore, which already installs & operates cooling system using solar heat.  Again "SOLAR HEAT", not PhotoVoltaic (PV). The facility has significantly cuts the usage of electricity and boost its image as a sustainable organization.  This SG facility is the largest solar cooling in the world, outside the US.  So you are so lucky for being able to see this facility in Singapore and without travelling to other continent.  What you need is BMW (Bus, Mrt, and Walk), as the facility is reachable by public transport.  For people who doubts solar cooling will ever be feasible in ASEAN countries, please RSVP & come.  Seeing is believing.  How does it work? We'll listen directly from the expert that installed & now operates this facility. The tour will involve a bit walks outdoor, as well as non-air cond environment. We'll have short presentation to explain the technology so pls come on time. You can wear T-shirt and sport shoes, as we will walk under the sun.  For security purpose, we need to submit your NRIC/passport number before the event, and on that day you may need to exchange your ID with the site's pass.  We could not accommodate sudden appearance without RSVP, as this facility is not opened to public.  Pls respect their rules & regulations.  If you want to come with your friend(s), pls make sure they do RSVP separately. For overseas visitors who come to CommunicAsia (2-5 Jun) or SEA Games opening ceremony (5 Jun), since you're already in Singapore you are welcomed to join in this tour. If you need a pickup from your hotel (at 8am), please provide your mobile number in your registration. We'll use whatsapp to communicate with you during your stay in Singapore. Pls make sure you install Whatsapp in your smartphone & connect to wifi when you're in Singapore.  We'll start at 10am sharp with 20-min technical presentation, then we'll tour the facility until noon. For those who need to go for Fri prayer, we can drop you to nearby mosque in Tampines Ave 5.  For the rest of us, we invite you to join lunch together at nearby Tampines Mall in Tampines Ave 4, next to Tampines MRT.       Registration is closed by May 29, 2015 noon.
