Gordon & MacPhail, the well-known independent bottler, decided to take a huge step forward in 1993 by giving a new lease of life to the renowned Speysider situated in the small village of Forres, which had been closed for almost 10 years.After five years of remodelling the first distillate flowed from the stills in 1998, forming what would eventually become their inaugural release after their relaunch, Benromach Traditional. Since then, G&M have been experimenting with different levels of peat, cask finishes and barley varieties to produce exceptional whiskies.
