Japan's major social businesses achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs) come together at the "Social Business Forum 2019" tag:peatix.com,2019:event-855918 2019-11-20T15:00:00JST 2019-11-20T15:00:00JST ▼DetailsTo celebrate the 10th anniversary of the "Cultural Festival for Women", one of Tokyo's largest women-only events where some 400 women entrepreneurs gather every year, a "Social Business Forum for Women" will be held, with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus as a special guest. The motivations for women entrepreneurs are very social in nature as they are most often based on personal experiences and directed toward helping loved ones and society.Even profits earned by small businesses are often contributed back to family or children. Perhaps we can say that women's entrepreneurship is in itself "social business." Meanwhile, those most affected by poverty are "women" and children. With Professor Muhammad Yunus, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts toward "creating a world without poverty", as guest, the forum will discuss a new world ecosystem. The "Social Business Forum 2019" will welcome young social entrepreneurs who will take part in heated discussions regarding the latest on "SDGs" and the concept of "social business", using specific case examples. It's a wonderful opportunity to learn directly from Professor Yunus who has advocated "social business" and Dr. Tasaka of the Tasaka Juku.▼What is a Social Business?A social business is a business created and designed to address a social problem. While being a profit-making business, it strives to contribute to society. Such organization is referred to as a "social enterprise" or "social venture" and entrepreneurs undertaking social business are called social "entrepreneurs". According to the research meeting on social business held in 2007 by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, social entrepreneurship is defined as having the following three components.1) It deals with social issues that need to be addressed and solved.2) It continuously conducts business activities.3) It develops and adopts new systems, and creates new social values. In other words, "social business" is a form of business that tackles social issues and by doing so creates new social values.▼TopicSocial Business to realize Sustainable Future▼About the Event[Date] Wednesday, November 20, 2019[Time] from 3 p.m. to  9:30 p.m.[Location] BELLESALLE TOKYO NIHONBASHI                Tokyo Nihonbashi Tower B2, Hall A[Video viewing] You can also view every speech through the video.  *limited time viewing▼Recommended for:- People who want to know more about social business- People who are looking for tips on entrepreneurship- People who want to spend their time and money in a meaningful way- People who want to solve familiar issues through business- People who want to learn about social issues and specific examples on how to solve them▼Itinerary▼Speakers<Part Ⅰ>●Opening speech●15:05~15:40 Guest speech 1Taguchi was born in 1980 in Fukuoka, Japan.
