All Poetry Is Useless

A Spoken Word Show by Marc Nair and Deborah Emmanuel

Is poetry relevant today? Does it even make sense? How useful can it really be?

First premiered at the Queensland Poetry Festival 2014, 'All Poetry Is Useless' is a two man spoken word show with Marc Nair and Deborah Emmanuel.

From comic to tragic, the show questions, challenges and celebrates the art of poetry through a series of poems that run the gamut from hospitals to seashells and pan-Asians.

Marc Nair is a poet and photographer from Singapore. He has published five volumes of poetry and has also been featured in a number of anthologies both print and online. He teaches creative writing and also does satirical podcasts with blogger mrbrown on the mrbrownshow. Marc has been part of the poetry slam scene in Singapore since 2003, and has represented Singapore competitively at international slam competitions in Malaysia, Reunion Island and France. He also performs spoken word and songs locally with his band, Neon and Wonder.
