Mondays, 7pm - 10pm 4 May - 22 June 2015 (8 weeks)Early Bird: $510 (By 19 Apr), U.P. $600We will overcome the stigma and fear of Shakespeare. We will take it from a dead literary text to a living, breathing performance text. Underneath Shakespeare's language, we will find, examine and physicalize the core essence of human nature and behaviour. In this 8 week production-workshop we turn Shakespeare's poetry into living and breathing text by applying basic techniques in verse analysis, the actor's breakdown of the script and applying 'Actioning' to the text. Actioning is a technique in which the actor finds what they want in a scene and pursues it despite all obstacles. The workshop portion of the course is capped off by a performance of a condensed and intimate version of Twelfth Night for an audience.
