But there's more to the river than that. This walk runs along the Alexandra Canal and the upper reaches of the Singapore River, beginning where it first comes to light and finishing in familiar (?) territory. Along the way we’ll be looking at the way urban renewal has brought, and continues to bring, changes to our urban landscapes: raised roadways, covered canals, instant trees, new architecture, park connectors, curated landscapes. And maybe learn the names of a few plants, trees, and birds along the way.
