has one Fireside Chat ended, another is on the cards! This Chat is on
Friday 17 April 2015, with Professor Sir Alan Ferscht, Master of Caius & Gonville,
Cambridge.
Professor Ferscht is curious about Proteins -- folded and misfolded -- and their link to
Disease and Cancer. His interest was sparked while a student at Caius
& Gonville. His stellar career has taken him to Imperial College London,
and back to Cambridge from 1988 to 2010, as Professor of Biochemistry and
Director of the Cambridge Centre for Protein Engineering from 1990 to
2010.
As well as
a College Master (to Stephen Hawkings, who lives at Caius), Sir Alan Ferscht is a Master of Chess and a
Master-Horologist.
All will be
explained – Proteins, Chess and Horology -- at the Fireside Chat on Friday 17
