[Tech Talk] DFX SERIES - Modular Designs with Aluminium Extrusions

by Mr Sim Joo Khai (OneMaker Group Pte Ltd) + Mr Fabian Shen (Prestech Industrial Automation Pte Ltd)
When the prototyping of a system necessitates the use of a mechanical mounting frame, aluminium profile extrusions are an ideal way to get started. Such extrusions can be used to form a quickly reconfigurable frame, even with compartments and accessories like sliding cable trays, castor wheels, handles and doors.

There is also an entire class of aluminium profile extrusions, that can be used to achieve an elegant look for instrument enclosures. Learn how you can leverage such products, to manage prototyping and moulding costs.

In this talk, you will ...

- Understand the different types of common industrial aluminium profile extrusions, as well as their accessories
- See some examples of how such mechanical structures can be reinforced for mechanical strength, or used to organise cables and payloads
- Understand how artisans and those building high-value, high-mix, low-volume products - can use aluminium profile extrusions meant for instrumentation and consumer electronics
- Understand the different types of surface finishes and faceplate preparation techniques, that can be used for instrumentation and consumer electronics
