In collaboration with Re:Dance Theatre and sound artist,
Terrence Lau, Multimedia Artist Kelvin Chew intents to utilize the confluence
of sound and visuals as disruptive mediums that intervenes in the traditional
dance making process and viewing experience.
Built on rules set by respective collaborators, dancers are
encouraged to improvise based on their own instincts, while they collectively
negotiate the visual and sonic landscape that they encounter.
Set within an intimate setting, audience are encouraged to join
the dancers in navigating through the space and piece together a personalized
experience for themselves.
Through constructed conflicts, the collaboration seeks to move
beyond the conventional relationship between the three mediums (sound, visuals
and dance).
Audience members will enter the space in groups of 20-25 and to purchase tickets at the respective time slots. They
will be allowed to re-enter the space again at a later time on the day of
ticket purchased at a first-come-first-serve basis.
