With traditional Malay dance training and embodiment, she questions nature versus nurture through the lense of a Malay woman today. Hasyimah is interested to come together and design a pedagogy for Singapore Malay dance that has relevance to contemporary issues. She proposes that transmission of wisdom in practising a form can be reimagined beyond everyday life.
