Here’s your chance to learn from our food growing journey at the Good Garden.Facilitated and designed by our Permaculture Design partners Cultivate Central, your child will learn how to nurture a healthy, abundant and compact kitchen garden. From creating good soil to composting, working with worms to planting herbs and leafy greens, we will share our experience and tips. All activities will be designed so that kids can participate and contribute meaningfully.Join us for this programme and encourage a grow your own culture at home. We believe children who explore gardening and growing food will not only make healthy food choices but also connect, gain ideas and inspiration from nature.Let’s Dig, Sow and Grow will run for 2 sessions. Lessons from each session will include the following:Session 1: Let’s build soil together Composting – Three methods suitable for composting in urban environments. Working with Worms – The art and science of composting with worms and how you can do this with kids. Make your own Mini Worm Home to take home with your child. Mixing soil – create a great potting mix, observations on properties of good soil, where to get supplies and the ingredients we use when we mix our own soil. Container gardening – exploring the different planter options. Take home: Mini Worm Home to help you get started on vermicomposting.Session 2: Let’s grow some food together Discover 8 easy growing plants to kick start your compact Kitchen Garden. Discover the world of microgreens – why plant microgreens? How to plant microgreens? Plant some leafy greens – some tips, ideas and a hands-on project to plant up your own leafy greens box. Take home: A leafy green box to help you kick start a small garden patch. Details Dates: Session 1 - 13th July (Saturday) and/or Session 2 - 20th July (Saturday)Time: 4.00 - 5.30pmAge Group: Strictly 5 – 12 years only.Five-year-olds must be accompanied by ONE adult. Adult accompaniment is optional for 6-12 years and you may treat it as a drop off activity. (ONE adult per child).Tickets: SGD35.00 per session (Admits ONE child, accompanying adult will not be charged)Venue: The Good Garden at The Artground, 90 Goodman Road, #01-40, Block J, Singapore 439053.  Terms and Conditions Please book considerately as purchased tickets are strictly non-refundable and change of dates or times are not permitted. We will be limiting the number of participants to ensure the quality of the session, so please do sign up early so not to be disappointed. Places are limited to 10 pairs (i.e. 1 child and 1 carer). This programme only admits ONE adult per ticket.  The Artground reserves the right to deny entry to latecomers, or children not within the stipulated age group. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the programme starts. An announcement will be made 5 -10 minutes before the start and you may present your ticket to the front of house staff for entry. Photos and videos may be taken during the performance for marketing and social media purposes by Cultivate Central/ The Artground.
