stages from TED Talks to Lincoln Center, Sarah and Phil are champions of
vulnerability, cheerleaders for the unexpected, and ruthless flashlights

ABOUT THE PERFORMERSSARAH KAYSarah Kay is a spoken word poet from New York City. She has been
invited to share her work on such diverse stages as the 2011 TED
Conference in Long Beach, California; the Malthouse Theater in
Melbourne, Australia; The Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen, Denmark,
and Carnegie Hall in New York City, among hundreds of other venues. Her
books, B (Domino Project, 2011) and No Matter the Wreckage (Write
Bloody Publishing, 2014) are both consistently top-ranked bestselling
poetry books. Sarah is the founder of Project VOICE, an organization
that brings spoken word poetry to schools and communities around the
world.
PHIL KAYE
Phil
Kaye is a performance poet who has shared his work around the world –
performing and teaching in ten different countries. Phil’s work has been viewed
over three million times online and featured in media outlets ranging from NPR
to Al Jazeera America to Upworthy.com. He is the co-director of Project VOICE,
an organization dedicated to promoting empowerment, improving literacy, and
encouraging empathy and creative collaboration in classrooms and communities around
the world through poetry. A former teacher of weekly poetry workshops in
maximum security prisons, Phil was the head coordinator of Space in Prisons for
the Arts and Creative Expression (SPACE). A Lightbulb Symphony, Phil’s
first collection of poetry, was published in 2011 and has sold thousands of
