Get an insider's look into the studio of Singapore Biennale artist Dennis Tan. Learn about the immense craft and precision that goes into making a kolek, which will be presented at the Biennale exhibition. The talk will be moderated by Biennale curator, John Tung. This programme is organised by the Singapore Art Museum, and supported by the Singapore Sailing Federation.ABOUT THE ARTISTDennis Tan (b. 1975, Singapore) graduated with a Diploma in Painting, Bachelor in Environmental Design, and a Master in Architecture. Describing his approach in his practice of boat building as ‘building-without-a-plan’, Tan’s practice grounds itself in the sensibilities of the common man – engaging the subject with naïve curiosity. He has exhibited in Singapore, Australia, and Korea.
