It was founded by Foo Yin Hong and Nasran Nawi. Prior to embarking on this project, Foo Yin Hong was a full time Double Bassist for MPO. He is also a regular guest-artist and tutor for orchestras in the region. Nasran Nawi is attached to the National Symphony Orchestra where he is the Principal Cellist since 1994. He has also played with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and is also a sought after sessionist.The Kamerata KL’s ensemble leader is Ergys Koni. He is a resident in Malaysia since 2004 and is currently the Professor of Violin at the UCSI University. Prior to which, he was with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.The rest of the ensemble consists of outstanding young local professionals who perform regularly throughout the region. They are specially selected to achieve the fresh approach and high level of artistry demanded by Kamerata KL.Inspiration Behind Kamerata Kuala LumpurFirstly, Kamerata KL’s primary goal is to deliver high quality and thrilling performances of chamber music. At the same time, we provide a quality platform for outstanding artists to showcase their craft, particularly local soloists and composers.Last but not least, we believe music has a very big role to play as a universal language, not only for entertainment but also in enriching lives.
