arts practitioner, researcher and writer William Cleveland will be here
to speak and facilitate an activity-based discussion that contextualises community
arts practice, research and evaluation and how these fields might foster mutually effective partnerships for community engagement. The talk will address
questions such as:
• How do arts-based community engagement practices produce sustained
impact?
• Why are research and evaluation of essence in framing the larger
narrative for arts-based community engagement?
• What opportunities are there for cross-sector collaborations in research
and community arts?
Building on case studies and stories shared at the talk, William
will also run workshops for arts practitioners and community organisers
that further explore how research and evaluation might strengthen the
effectiveness of community arts practice and also increase support for
community partners and organisers.
