Come, join us for a leisurely 1-hour guided self-paddle where our volunteer guides will share interesting facts on the flora and fauna along the river, the importance of our coastal forests, the works going on in RUM (Restore Ubin Mangroves) Initative and why the needs to conserve our mangroves. This trip is suitable for both adults and children (8 years old & above). COST PER PERSON$20 per person (to cover cost of equipment rental and logistics handling). This event is run by volunteers, including nature guides and safety personnel. Any proceeds received, will be donated to the Marine Conservation Group, Nature Society (Singapore) for conservation efforts. DURATIONEach session will last approximately 1.5 hours including safety briefing. Appreciate that you can meet and gather punctually at the indicated time. Do give yourself at least 30 minutes to walk from main jetty to Jelutong Bridge (launching area). PLEASE SCROLL DOWN AND REFER TO MAP AT THE END OF PAGE. IMPORTANT NOTE! Participants must be 8 years old and above. Participants below 12 (i.e. 8 - 12 years old) must be accompanied by a parent or an adult guardian in the same kayak. Please CHECK that the preferred time slot is CORRECT before you click to make your purchases. Once tickets confirmed SOLD, we apologise that we cannot make any amendment through the system. As this is a NOT-FOR-PROFIT event, we seek your understanding that there will be NO refunds on the tickets once sold. In the event of unfavorable weather condition, departure timings may be delayed. WHAT TO BRING? ✅ wear proper covered footwear/ booties/ aqua shoes (strictly NO slippers nor flip flops!!!) ✅ sun protection (hats, long sleeve clothing)✅ drinking water (or purchase cold drinks from Ah Ma's Drink Stall) NO LOCKERS FOR BAGS! Please note that there will be NO designated nor safe area to leave your bags or personal belongings. Therefore, please be prepared to bring your bags onto the kayaks with you, and waterproof them. Advisable to carry drybags. NO TOILET FACILITY! ✅ Please note that there are NO toilets / NO changing facilities available at the kayak launching point ✅ Toilets are only available at Ubin Village / Main Jetty BE PUNCTUAL!✅ Please be on time. As we are running the trips back to back, we apologise that we cannot wait for late-comers and have to launch our kayaks ON TIME and depart every hour. ✅ Do plan your ferry ride to Pulau Ubin early and take a leisurely 30-minute walk to Jelutong Bridge. Please check directly with van driver for the transport fee. FAQ! FAQ! Q: Do I need to have kayaking certification such as 1-star to participate? A: No, you don't need to have that but good to be comfortable with water and with any water-based activity. Q: Can my child join me if he/she is under 8 years old? A: Sorry, unfortunately we cannot take any participant younger than 8 years old. And if the child is under 12 years old (i.e. 8 - 12 years old), a parent or an adult guardian must accompany the child on the same kayak. Q: Can we wear slippers for this activity? A: Unfortunately NO. Good to wear aqua shoes or at least a pair of sandals with secured backstrap. This is required because the launching area is steep and uneven with many rocky sharp edges. Therefore, strictly NO slippers. Q: Are there lockers for our personal belongings/bags? A: Sorry NO! there are no designated area to leave your bags. So, it helps to carry a small dry bag or otherwise waterproofed it, to bring onboard the kayak with you. The organiser team (who are volunteers) will be busy managing the activity and thus unable to watch over nor be responsible your personal belongs.   Q: Can we change the names of attendees after tickets have been purchased?A: In the event that you cannot participate in the activity, you may find replacement yourself. Simply email the names and contacts of the replacing participants to the organiser and we will attend to your friends who are taking over your slots. The replacement MUST be submitted at least 2 days prior to event Q: Will there be a refund if cannot find replacement? A: As this is NOT a commercial event (not-for-profit) and run by volunteers, we seek your kind understanding to find your own replacement if you cannot participate. If no replacement, it will be considered as NO SHOW and there shall be NO REFUND. The money will be donated to the NSS Marine Conservation Fund.
