About Soft Toy Hospital

When Isaac Kong and Pamela Theng started out as teddy bear artists in 1996, they were just fervently pursuing their dreams of being the best that they could be in the craft. Their creations gained traction following worldwide sales and international awards.

Since 2016 and through countless of research, they have decided to offer soft toy restoration, repair and cleaning services via the concept of a Soft Toy Hospital. The idea was underpinned by the founders’ dedication to create environmentally safe and hygienic soft toys for everyone to enjoy, and to nurse one’s beloved soft toy back to health.

Think about that pair of jeans you have once discarded for its torn fabric. Or that stool, thrown out for unstable legs.

Mottainai (勿体無い) is a phrase that is deeply ingrained into the Japanese culture. The term is used to express a sense of regret at wasting the intrinsic value of aresource or object. It can be translated as “what a waste” or “don’t be wasteful”. Bearing this concept, we have created a Fixing Market as an avenue to bring broken items that have served you well, a new lease of life.

Drop by OPEN MUJI in the store as we provide common ground for exchange of skills, ideas and care for your living. So that the emphasis to live conscientious of the environment is made in connecting local craftsmen and people from all walks of life
