[trans., DYNAMIC RELATIONAL THERAPY APPROACH (created in Water)] and co-presenter, Ms. Choo Kah Ying (author and joyful mother of Sebastien, her autistic son). As a parent who has experienced the devastating impact of mainstream practices centred on managing Sebastien's behaviour  Sebastien until she met Dr. Antonio and the joy of parenting an autistic child with lightness, Ms. Choo is determined to share the wisdom of A.T.D.R.A. with other families struggling with autism. A part of our "Saving Autistic Lives Mission", this foundational workshop on A.T.D.R.A., targeted at any interested individuals — parents, teachers, and potential ATDRA therapists — will provide an accurate understanding of autism. Current so-called mainstream evidence-based practices are focused on making autistic individuals behave like "normal" people (based on narrow mainstream conceptions). However, they fail to tap into the importance of addressing the well-being of autistic individuals from the inside and enabling the key figures in their lives — parents, caregivers, and other professionals — to form loving and nurturing relationships with them. Through this workshop, participants will be initiated on a critical journey to change their mindset and being by gaining a comprehensive and empathetic understanding of why autistic individuals engage in "inappropriate" behaviours from stimming to meltdowns.  This foundational understanding is essential for knowing how to interact and connect with autistic individuals effectively. For those of you who have attended Dr. Antonio's workshop before, please come back for a refresher. He is always incorporating new insights that have not been covered in previous versions.* Please note that individuals who are interested to be A.T.D.R.A. therapists would be asked to do a 30-minute assessment at the end of the workshop (at 12 noon). If you are selected, we will be asking you to take part in three theoretical training sessions during the weekend evenings from June 30-July 5. Practical observation and training sessions will then be held in subsequent weeks, as we endeavour to create a  network of A.T.D.R.A. therapists to support families in Singapore.About Dr. Antonio RinaldiDr. Antonio Rinaldi is a clinical psychologist and creator of A.T.D.R.A., an evolutive approach for treating autism and other developmental disorders. Unlike conventional approaches that view autism through external behaviours, A.T.D.R.A. delves into the inner psyche of the autistic being with an empathy-centred approach. In addition, he has pioneered the swimming pool and surfing therapy approaches, which harness the dynamic qualities of water and waves for emotional regulation and interactions. Through his organisation, For You A.T.D.R.A., Dr. Rinaldi has been spreading his therapy approach in collaboration with autism organisations throughout Italy and abroad. He has conducted talks, workshops, supervisions, and consultations for the past eight years. It is Dr. Rinaldi’s life mission to transform the world into a community that can properly support and empower autistic individuals to lead meaningful lives of quality.Videos with Testimonials of Dr. Antonio from me and parents in Italy can be found here:https://www.facebook.com/amotherswishsg/   Updates tag:peatix.com,2019-05-21 00:21:39 2019-05-21 00:21:39 The event description was updated.
