With work expertise from Asia, Europe, and Australia Elsie overcome cross-cultural challenges.Being a mother of three remarkable daughters in their twenties and late teen years, Elsie is currently the Asian regional lead for Human Resources in a strong branded global company. Elsie has been experiencing a whole journey of change: raised in a traditional Chinese family, the expectations from her parents were to attend a prestigious school, graduate with honors, acquire a decent and stable job, get married, raise a family and live a happy life. It seemed natural to achieve all those expectations; however, over the last few years, life progressed differently. The opportunity arose, fuelling Elsie to quit her stable job and join a start-up company. Whilst many challenges and exciting projects stemmed from the start-up, Elsie lost her father in the 2nd year of the role. The company ultimately lost its grounding during the same month of the 3rd year, so Elsie lost her job as well. Elsie could have perceived herself as a failure from that moment. Nonetheless, another opening came in, enabling her to broaden her career and horizons to other parts of the world. With the strive for continuous improvement and the strong beliefs to drive her own journey, with her solid Human Resources management experience, Elsie has decided to set up her own business to mentor women in Asia.
