Many people have an image that Japanese paintings are difficult but once you get the structure and tips, anyone will be able to enjoy it.  In “Japanese Paintings for Beginners” workshop, you will draw a seasonal motif under the theme of the beauties of nature.This time, the motif is “iris”.Iris blooms its flower around May and June. Around the same time in Nezu museum in Omotesando, they exhibit the national treasure “Ogata Kōrin's Irises” and you can see the beautiful irises in their garden. How about enjoying the exhibition in the museum and creating your own work in PIGMENT TOKYO inspired by the beautiful blue? In this workshop, we will learn the technique from Rimpa School called tarashikomi(a technique in which colors are dripped or brushed into wet ink) as well as how to knead the paints, control the saturation, draw lines and the way of coloring from both theory and practice.
