Alice will introduce site-specific interventions work that she’s done with UK museums like the National Gallery and Tate in London with people with learning disabilities and the elderly. She will also introduce the Tate Museum’s Tate Exchange programme, and the philosophy and working practices behind it. (Limited) The lecture-workshop will be followed by a consultancy session - come prepared with questions. In 2003 Alice founded the Rocket Artists Studios for artist with learning disabilities and their non-disabled collaborators. She has worked for many years with participatory performance and visual arts alongside some of the world’s most socially excluded groups, in particular people with learning disabilities and elders. Alice often works training NGOs, museum, health & education workers. Alice is currently delivering inclusive arts projects for Tate Exchange, The National Gallery and the British Council in Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea and Nepal. Alice is also a member of Brighton Museum Access Advisory Group. This is a group of museum workers and disabled people who work together to maximise access to Brighton Museum and its exhibitions.In recognition of her ground breaking Inclusive Arts work Alice won the Times Higher Education Award 2017 for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts.
