Your Experience:
Rice is a staple of the Japanese diet and most Japanese have a favorite rice bowl. In this experience, you will make your own rice bowl using a mold, as well as a chopstick rest. You will be ready to enjoy your Japanese-style meal with your own rice bowl and chopstick rest! The class will be conducted in English.

About the Instructor:Rei Toyoda
Director of the Kamakura Pottery Studio in Gokurakuji, Kamakura. Designs and runs popular experiences making curry rice plates (and then eating serious curry), making matcha teacups (and then holding a tea ceremony), and other creative pottery endeavors. A graduate of the ceramics course at the Aichi Prefecture Ceramics Institute and the Spanish department of Kanagawa University.

My茶碗＆箸置きを作ろう！
海からも近く緑多い鎌倉、極楽寺の工房でお椀・漬物皿・箸置きを作りを英語で学ぶクラス。日本の主食は米！日本ではものごころついた頃からご飯茶碗は自分専用の碗で食べるご家庭が多く思い入れの深いものです。ここでは陶芸初挑戦の方にも易しい、型(mold)作りによるお茶碗作りが体験できます。この機会に自分のオリジナル飯碗と箸置きで朝から気分がアップ。飯碗はもちろんシリアルやスープなどを入れたりしてもお使いいただけます。基本的に英語でのクラスですが、日本人の先生ですので心配なし。片言でも大丈夫です。英語を喋りたくでうずうずしている方、陶芸をしながらLet's English！
