A consideration of the material and medial qualities of letters points to a broader conceptualisation of ‘intimacy’ as the continual process of attachment and detachment — a mode of maintaining ever-shifting closeness or distance to different objects, subjects and worlds. To think about intimacies is therefore to think about one’s relative position in space. By extension, to think about ‘intimacy’ in history is to critically reflect on the narratives and figures that we have consciously or unconsciously kept close to ourselves, as well as to those that we have cast aside or turned a blind eye to.Exhibition Opening: 21 Feb, Thur | 7 - 9pm The Substation45 Armenian St, Singapore 179936Free with registration. Exhibition Dates: 22 Feb - 2 Mar | Weekdays: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. | Weekends: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.Produced by:Yuen Ai Zhen Carol, Wong Kwang Lin, Leong Yee Ting, Wee Jing Long, Edgar Yeo Quan Yi, Calvin Teo, Oh Kai LinCommissioned by The Future of Our Pasts Festival—The Future of Our Pasts Festival (TFOOPFest) is a month-long festival showcasing 11 creative projects by students and recent graduates from different tertiary institutions in Singapore and abroad, that reimagine lesser-known stories of our communities and places through arts and media. #TFOOPFest invites you to view our history in a new light, discover stories of our past and present, and engage with what they mean for Singapore — now and in the future.Festival website: futureofourpasts.comFacebook: facebook.com/futureofourpastsInstagram: @futureofourpasts Updates tag:peatix.com,2019-02-17 02:16:05 2019-02-17 02:16:05 The event description was updated.
