Are there established methods out there? How does one go about carving out one’s own creative process and remain disciplined? In this workshop, poet Desmond Kon Zhicheng-Mingdé invites both emerging and established practitioners to discuss their own effective writing habits and processes. The writing segment will have participants engaging with Desmond’s book of creative prompts, The World According to Ms Erasure. The first 15 participants each receives a complimentary copy of the book.About the facilitator Desmond Kon Zhicheng-Mingdé is the author of an epistolary novel, five hybrid works, nine poetry collections, and several chapbooks. A former journalist, he has edited more than twenty books and co-produced three audio books, several pro bono for non-profit organisations. His writing is widely anthologised, having appeared in over 200 literary publications.Trained in book publishing at Stanford University, Desmond studied sociology and mass communication at the National University of Singapore, and later received his world religions masters from Harvard University and creative writing masters from the University of Notre Dame.
