Each child will attend ONE workshop and a talk which will introduce them to writing sci-fi, mysteries, the art of storytelling and more:10am – 11.30am: Workshop (Choose only A or B)11.30am – 11.45am: Break11.45am – 12.30pm: Talk - Kes Gray and Silly Stories (book sales and signing to follow)Parents should return to pick their children at 12.30pm.Participants are advised to bring writing materials, a sweater, a water bottle and light snack for the break. (A) WORKSHOP: THE HOWS AND WHYS OF STORYTELLING by Roger JenkinsLearn how to tell stories as a tool for self-expression from storyteller Roger Jenkins. Participants will be exposed to the different ways of storytelling in this workshop and pick up techniques along the way. Through this session, they will also develop oracy skills and build confidence to speak in front of an audience.This session is recommended for ages 7 to 9.(B) WORKSHOP: CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE by AJ LowMissed this workshop at Singapore Writers Festival 2018? AJ Low, the authors of the Sherlock Sam series, are back to run the popular session again! They’ll lead young writers to discover and develop the art of writing in different genres – from wuxia to sci-fi to detective stories. This session is recommended for ages 10 to 12 and priority will be given to first-time participants.TALK: KES GRAY AND SILLY STORIES by Kes GrayKes Gray is the award-winning author of the Oi Frog and Friends series, the Daisy series and more. Have a laugh with the author and find out how he gets away with writing such silly and fun stories and be inspired to pen tales of your own.This session is recommended for ages 7 to 12.
