Their parents provide guidance and co-work with their children, teaching them basic entrepreneurship skills by sorting and selling pre-loved donated books to generate an income for themselves.Donation requirements: Dignity Mama is calling for adult and children books, textbooks, encyclopedias and educational magazines. All books and magazines should be in good and saleable condition.Food Bank SingaporeSince their establishment in 2012, Food Bank Singapore has been dedicated to bridging the gap between excess food and the need for food around the island. Food that is donated will first arrive at their warehouse where volunteers sort, do a quality check and take inventory of the items. They are then consolidated and sent to their member beneficiaries as a free shopping list before being sent out. They have 250 beneficiary organisations, including but not limited to Family Service Centres, Senior Activity Centres and local Soup Kitchens.Donation Requirements: Food Bank Singapore is calling for non-perishable food items such as staples (pasta, noodles, rice), beverages (UHT milk, hot beverages & ready to drink sachets), condiments (oil, seasoning, spices, sugar), snacks (biscuits, chips, chocolate, chips), canned food (beans, soup, meat, seafood), dried preserved food (vegetables, meat, beans, fruits).Kindly refrain from donating rusty unlabeled cans, expired items or used items.Salvation ArmyThe Salvation Army has been touching lives in Singapore since 1935 and they remain committed to serving the underprivileged in the community without discrimination. Throughout the years, they have established a comprehensive network of social services to meet a wide range of needs in our community. Their diverse programmes reach out to children who need care and protection, families in material need, ailing aged requiring quality nursing care and other needy segments in our society.Donation requirements: Salvation Army Singapore is calling for apparels that are in good, resaleable condition.
