How to grow your next big idea, from those who've done it [includes refreshments] tag:peatix.com,2018:event-570718 2018-12-05T19:00:00SGT 2018-12-05T19:00:00SGT Do you know your VCs from your MCs, your bootstraps from your bootlaces, your Series A from your Series of Unfortunate Events? If the answer is a confused ‘nope!’ well - we hear you! The language of the start-up scene can often appear like it’s from a whole other dimension, so we figured it’s about time that it received the MAKE Digital treatment. After sold out events demystifying Social Media, UX, and Digital Romance, we’re bringing together some of the start-up scene’s movers & shakers for Show me the Money? Everything you wanted to know about funding, but were too afraid to ask. Our hand-picked panel of entrepreneurs, founders and Venture Capitalists will cut the confusion and dial-down the intimidating lingo to share real world advice for growing a successful business, with or without external dollar.  Whether you’re already running a business or are just curious about the start up scene, you’ll walk away with real world advice on both running a successful digital business and the funding options that are out there. What are the pros and cons of raising funding for your business? What are the benefits to going your own way, and the common pitfalls? How do you even know which to pursue? And what keeps founders awake at night? These are just some of the questions that we'll be covering off over the evening which spans a 45 minute panel session, Q&A, and, of course, some informal networking over drinks.  The event will be held at Collision 8, a coworking space in the heart of the CBD (and with a killer view of MBS), on 5 December at 7:00pm - 9:30pm. Registration is from 7pm with talks beginning at 7.30pm.We can’t wait to MAKE Digital with you. Announcing our speakers! James Hirst, Co-Founder & CEO, Tyk API ManagementAfter over 10 years working in digital strategy James jacked in the 9 to 5 and co-founded Tyk Technologies Ltd, a leading API Management start up.Fast forward 2 years and Tyk's winning deals from under the noses of tech's big boys, with clients including Starbucks, AXA & Trip Advisor.
