The Hub wants to help answer these questions through the ‘Meet the Angels’ event series, a forum where angel investors can connect with the most interesting start-ups and hard-working teams in Singapore, learn about their needs, and explain what they look for in companies they invest in.Early-stage founders can come to understand the best investment terms for their business, learn how best to communicate to angel investors, share and collaborate with their partners and colleagues in the ecosystem. He has funded more than a dozen startups that grew to become public companies, serving on the Board of Directors of 7 publicly listed companies that emerged from his portfolio. He is currently Chairman of Maxthon Inc and Treasure Data. Bill is an active Angel Investor having personally funded companies such as Tweetdeck/ Twitter, Tango.me, Treasure Data, Miselu, and VideoEgg (SayMedia). He is a partner of several funds at Charles River Ventures where he represents CRV on the board of Glyde, Maxthon and Scribd. Prior to establishing CRV’s Silicon Valley office, Bill co-founded IPInfusion as Executive Chairman, iAsiaWorks as Chairman and CEO, and Tradebeam as President. OzApp The OzAPP Awards is the Asia Pacific’s most exciting and innovative app competition seeking the region’s best mobile, web and cloud app concepts. This year, OzApp will travel to the most influential and dynamic spaces of the APAC region, such as Singapore and Hong Kong, to further seek and unearth the most innovative tech startups. Initiated by Curtin University and Bill Tai, the app competition aims to foster dialogue and collaboration between innovators, researchers, investors and industry, and to further stimulate innovative business culture around Australia. The OzAPP Awards is open to all residents of the Asia Pacific region, both individuals and companies. The final judging will be held in Perth, Western Australia as part of an intensive program in February 2015. The program will feature inspiring keynote speakers, interactive workshops, networking events, mentoring sessions, educational workshops and community events. The finalists will pitch their app concept to OzAPP Award’s audience and international judging panel. Winners are awarded significant cash, in-kind resources and mentoring advice to build and launch their apps.
