Local filmmaker Jasmine Ng shares with us the different documentary formulae and the directorial process of research, ethics and storytelling. In collaboration with local visual arts centre Objectifs, Perspectives Film Festival 2014 will feature Jasmine Ng, one of the few female filmmaking veterans in Singapore. In this seminar, participants will hear Jasmine’s experiences working on her own documentaries like Pink Paddlers and Both Sides, Now and find out how film can be used as a medium to initiate change in society. Lunch will be provided after the session. About Jasmine NgJasmine Ng is a filmmaker who has in-depth experiences as a director and producer. She has directed both short and feature-length films which have gone on to receive awards at international film festival. With Discovery Channel, she has produced highly-rated original content such as Lonely Planet Six Degrees, and the Afterlife documentary anthology.About Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film (www.objectifs.com.sg)Established in 2003, Objectifs is a visual arts centre dedicated to promoting photography and filmmaking. The centre provides instruction in photography and filmmaking at different skill levels. Our instructors are all full-time practising photographers and fillmmakers – passionate about their craft and keen to inspire students.
