Get a rare
behind-the-scenes glimpse of Salaam Bombay! with Sooni Taraporevala, screenwriter
and on-set photographer of this powerful and moving Cannes Camera d'Or-winning
film.
Through the lens of Sooni's camera, we journey back to the initial days of
interaction with the street children in Salaam Bombay!, and
take a look at the filming process on set. In this seminar, Sooni will also
showcase her other photography project, PARSIS:
The Zoroastrians of India; A Photographic Journey, and participants will
get a sneak peek into her latest project, 3½, a futuristic
love story she wrote and plans to direct.
Lunch will be provided after the session. About Sooni TaraporevalaWhile
working in India as a freelance stills photographer, Sooni Taraporevala wrote
the screenplay for Mira Nair’s Salaam Bombay! (1998), which went on to garner international acclaim. Since then, she has gone on to
write screenplays for films such as Mississippi
