We are here to bring you, probably the most comprehensive urban survival training ever in Singapore.About the Venue:This edition will be held at the Kampung Kampus, Singapore's first eco-village and sustainable learning campus situated at Yishun, beside ORTO Park, near Khatib MRT. This venue is also the home of Ground-Up Initiative (GUI), a 10-year old environmental and social non-profit committed towards building a 5G Singapore that is more Gracious, Green, Giving, Grounded and Grateful. We have also held humanitarian simulations and practicums at Kampung Kampus previously. Self Defense (Unarmed and with Tools)4. Bushcraft, Shelter and Firemaking in Wilderness5. Improvised Survial First Aid6. Instinctive Archery and Hunting Techniques7. Edible Gardening and Home Microgreening8. Survival and Nutritious Food (Vegetarian)*9:00am- 7.00pm on both days of the workshop.Safety:Participants will need to be in good health as light to moderate physical activity is required. Fagan continually strives to inspire and help others to discover their fullest potential through the exploration of movement, one relationship at a time. He is currently focusing on bridging the gap between movement skills and personal safety, and advocating the awareness and interaction between ourselves, the environment and our adaptation to overcome any obstacles within that environment.Traditional Archers SingaporeTraditional Archers Singapore is an archery organisation that advocates the practice and preservation of instinctive archery in Singapore and beyond. Traditional instinctive archery has always been one of the primary weapons used in this region, the Malay Peninsula, dating back to when Singapore was known as Temasek under the rule of Malacca Sultanate, which was closely knitted with the great Ottoman Empire of modern day Turkey. Archers from TAS have represented Singapore overseas at regional and international competitions. TAS has also conducted programmes including family-friendly ones at schools and community centres.Lawrence KuGet Home Safe SG FounderMartial Arts PractitionerLawrence Ku is an experienced martial artist trained in Krav Maga and Brazilian Jujistu. He founded the community “Get Home Safe SG”, which he conducts the traveller Caveat, women’s self defense and active defense courses. Lawrence aims to arm all students who pass through his doors, especially women, with situational awareness, defences against single and multiple assailants, improvised weapon creation, weapon retention and usage, critical striking knowledge, parkour and other key survival skills.Saiful AnuarImprovised First Aid TrainerMohamad Saiful bin Md Anuar has been in the emergency medical services (EMS) since 2004, and once served as a senior paramedic with Hope Ambulance at Bukit Batok Fire Station. His EMS journey began as a medic during national service before he signed on and was trained and certified as a traumatic paramedic specialist (ready to be deployed with the Urban Search and Rescue Team) before moving to the private sector as a product specialist, operations manager and presently station OIC. His professionalism and passion both on and off duty has earned him several including the 'Home Affairs Minister National Day Award' for being the first at scene after receiving the myresponder app alert to a late night cardiac arrest case while off duty, 'Service Excellence Award' safely conducting an emergency childbirth at a void deck while on duty and several others. Beyond his daily duties, he has also mentored trainees and lead his station's innovation team.Shondell LimNutrigrowerUrban FarmerShondell Lim has been in the agriculture and plant nutrients sector for many years, supplying to neighboring countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines. In order to meet the growing needs of urban farmers and home growers in Singapore, he established Nutrigrower Hesed Global, focused on educating and nurturing the grower community for today and for the next generation. He believes Nature brings family together and creates stronger bonding. He has educated learners, both young and old, on nutrition and where our food come from through hands-on experiences. His son, Shilo, was introduced to nature and farming at a very young age of 3 years old. His son's love for nature, insects and other animals has grown ever since and is also actively involved in urban farming.Muhd Ibnur RashadGUILD & Humanitarian Engineering PracticumEngineer ScientistMuhd Ibnur Rashad has served in the non-profit sector at Ground-Up Initiative (GUI), in civil service at Housing & Development Board (HDB) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and in startups in Singapore and Silicon Valley. He has also been involved in overseas community development projects and fieldwork in India, Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam. As an award-winning inventor and an engineer scientist by training, he has worked on solar dryers, built DIY antennas from scratch, floating farms from salvaged waste and off-grid solar solutions before. He has also curated humanitarian simulations and practicums for both aspiring and professional engineers together with Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES). As a STEAM educator with much experience in local and international schools, he has taught electronics, hardware coding as well as Morse code to learners, both young and old.Ashton LawGUILD & Prepper AsiaParkour FounderAbout Lead Coordinator and TREK TARIK Curator:Ashton Law is well-known for being the founding father of the Parkour Singapore community and founder of Ashton Movements Agency, the first and leading free-running agency in Singapore. He has also organised several humanitarian trips across South-East Asia. He has also worked as a private security contractor and tactical instructor, which he acquired a high level of tactical skills from years of operating in hostile environment. Beyond being a father to Jalen, he has also guided children in countless outdoor and indoor educational activities to nurture resilient and creative learners.
