With over 100 films from 40 countries to choose from, let us help you navigate our programme line-up. Join us this weekend as we introduce our film selection, share what to look out for, and discuss the topics surrounding our films with our Festival programmers and guest speakers. For this session, we will walk you through a selection of films from the Classics and Cinema Today sections that were adapted from literature. Christian Petzold [Germany, France] Registered attendees will stand a chance to win SGIFF tickets during a lucky draw at the end of the talk!-----------------------About the Speakers CYRIL WONG is a Singapore Literature Prize-winning poet and fictionist with a doctoral degree in English Literature. He has been a book and arts reviewer for The Straits Times and TODAY newspaper, and has curated an anthology of Singaporean fiction for the O-level syllabus. His own writings have been translated into various languages and he has appeared and performed in literary and arts festivals across the world.LEONG PUIYEE is a manager at Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film, where she is responsible for the film programmes and projects. She also coordinates the film sales at Objectifs Films, an independent film distribution label. She has managed film events such as the Singapore Short Film Awards, cINE65 Short Film Competition and the Fly By Night Video Challenge. She was part of the pre-selection committee of the inaugural SEAShorts Film Festival 2017 in Malaysia. An occasional zine artist, Puiyee has taken part in the 2013 Tokyo Art Book Fair and Print Lab: Art and Design publication exhibition under Grey Projects. She is currently the Programme Manager (Short Films) for the Singapore International Film Festival. OLIVIA TAY is a programmer at the Singapore International Film Festival, overseeing the Cinema Today and Singapore Panorama sections and handling film traffic. Before switching over to the programming team, she was involved in the SGIFF Hospitality team in 2014 and 2015. She has also had experience with film production and events management. Olivia graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2014, majoring in Sociology and with a minor in Film Studies. She constantly wishes for more time to watch films, football and amateur cooking shows.
