The COY brings together young people from around the world who are passionate about addressing climate change and promoting sustainable lifestyles. It enhances the exchange of experiences, knowledge and good practices to strengthen the international youth climate movement and involve next generations in developing climate solutions and actionsThis year, we are bringing the idea to Malaysia. We will be organising a Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) - Youth Climate Action Conference. It will be held on Saturday - Sunday, 10th - 11 Nov, at Oasis Village @ Oasis Ara Damansara.The purpose of the conference is to act as a capacity building platform for the youths to share their experience, skills, insights and environmental solutions, coupled with practical workshops and presentations.We aim to stimulate dialogue revolving using the principle of Talanoa Dialogue to provide structured and action-oriented input. The Fijian word ‘Talanoa’ refers to an inclusive process of dialogue where all participants, regardless of power or influence, are peers. The Talanoa Dialogue provides a new framework in which parties but also non-state actors can contribute to accelerate climate action.The goal of this process is to build empathy, trust, and cooperation; It is meant to encourage everyone to be more ambitious in fighting climate change; and it will build up momentum so that states improve their national ambitions to transition into carbon neutral societies as soon as possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=26&v=x81BaQFNUsk
