Following our well-attended WiDS KL 2018 Conference in March 2018, WiDSKL is organizing a meetup on 2 November, 2018! WiDSKL's mission is to highlight current developments in the ever-changing world of data science, as well as create awareness of the exciting projects being carried out by women data scientists locally and in the region. We hope to reach out and bring together a community of data scientists of all experience levels and all genders to generate discussions as well as support for data science projects.As such, we are proud to be featuring two accomplished women data scientists speakers on November 2nd, 2018, who will be sharing their experience and work as data scientists in the banking and startup industries.There will be networking sessions before and after the presentations, and we invite data scientists of all levels and genders to get to know the speakers and each other.Come join us for an exciting evening with our two speakers!Venue:SEEK Asia (Jobstreet.com)Level 20, Menara AIA Capsquare Tower, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur.Agenda:6:30pm: Registration and Networking7:00pm: Jenna Yang7:45pm: Ghazaleh Babanejad8:30pm: Networking Speakers:Jenna Yang is a lead data scientist in Moneylion, a data-driven fintech startup offering personal loans and a 360 degree approach to financial wellness. Previously, she led the data science effort at Intel Malaysia, developing machine learning techniques for failure and fault prediction in the manufacturing and IoT domain. Prior to that, she spent a few years gathering intelligence from data to resolve complex regulatory issues at the Brattle Group, an Economic consulting firm in Washington DC. She received her Masters degree from Harvard University in the field of machine learning and computational science, and completed her undergraduate degree in Physics and Economics at Wesleyan University. Ghazaleh Babanejad is a Senior Data Scientist at Data Corner. She will be speaking about her journey to becoming a data scientist and the challenges of working in a startup. She is a last semester Phd candidate in University Putra Malaysia in Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology. She worked on Preference queries in the field of skyline queries over Dynamic and Incomplete databases for her PhD thesis. She is also working on Data Science field as a trainer and Senior Data Scientist from 2014. She worked on Machine Learning and Process Mining projects. She also has several international certificates in Practical Machine Learning (John Hopkins University), Mining Massive Datasets (Stanford University), Process Mining (Eindhoven University), Hadoop (University of San Diego), MongoDB for DBAs (MongoDB Inc) and some other data science certificates. She has more than 5 year experience as a lecturer and data base administrator.
