This session continues a literary dialogue that has spawned joint anthologies and readings. Listen to the featured writers read excerpts of their works and join in the fellowship centred on what we love such as comfort food, cultural diversity and a good story. This session is co-presented with Poetry Festival Singapore. Session Moderator: Eric Tinsay Valles Featuring: Aaron LeeSingapore Aaron Lee is a pilgrim poet, writing mentor, community organiser and regulatory/ethics lawyer. His three books of poetry (including Coastlands) are critically acclaimed, and he has won many writing awards. He also co-edited several books, including the bestselling poetry anthology, No Other City, and the GCE A-level anthology, Lines Spark Code. Victor Fernando R. OcampoPhilippines - SingaporeVictor Fernando R. Ocampo is a Singapore-based Filipino writer. He is the author of The Infinite Library and Other Stories(2017) and Here be Dragons (2015), which won the Romeo Forbes Children’s Story Award in 2012. His writing has appeared in many publications such as Strange Horizons, Best New Singaporean Short Stories, Maximum Volume: Best New Filipino Fiction, Quarterly Literary Review Singapore and LONTAR. Claire Betitia de GuzmanPhilippines - Singapore Claire Betita de Guzman has worked as a magazine editor for Cosmopolitan Philippines, Preview and Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, and as a lifestyle reporter for the broadsheet, Today. She is now writing novels, short fiction and poetry. She is the author of chick-lit novel No Boyfriend Since Birth, which was adapted into a five-episode TV series in the Philippines. Her other novels include Girl Meets World, Budget is the New Black and her latest book, Miss Makeover. Lawrence YpilPhilippines - Singapore Lawrence Ypil received an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from Washington University in St Louis on a Fulbright Scholarship, and an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Iowa. His first book of poems, The Highest Hiding Place, received the Madrigal Gonzalez Best First Book Award. His work has also received the Academy of American Poets Prize, among others. Heng Siok TianSingapore Heng Siok Tian has published five poetry collections, the latest being Mixing Tongues (2011). She co-authored The Adopted: Stories from Angkor and Lost Bodies: Poems Between Portugal and Home in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Her work has appeared in more than 20 anthologies. She recently completed a commission by Singapore Teachers Academy for the Arts to compose lyrics for use as a pedagogical resource. Felix CheongSingapore Felix Cheong is the author of 11 books, including four volumes of poetry, the popular satirical flash-fiction series Singapore Siu Dai, and his debut children’s book Use Your Head. He won the Young Artist of the Year for Literature in 2000 and holds a master’s degree in creative writing.
