Did you answer it?Naomi KleinInspired by Naomi Klein’s earth-shattering book This Changes Everything, REQUIEM FOR CHANGE is an epic devised work about the titanic struggle between capitalism and climate change; potentially the last great story of humanity. REQUIEM FOR CHANGE focuses on two sisters: an investigative journalist researching her latest work on capitalism's effect on climate change – and the other a reclusive cellist fighting nature to become pregnant. The "Requiem" of the title refers to a work being composed by her husband who will perform it at the close of the 2016 Climate Change Conference. The story moves in fragments of time, from the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps in 1945 to 2116, one hundred years after the signing of the Paris Climate Agreement, the largest global undertaking ever envisaged and enacted by human beings to save the planet and ourselves.Directed by internationally renowned theatre maker David Glass, REQUIEM FOR CHANGE has been developed and devised over two years internationally with students whose lives will be directly affected by the choices and actions we are taking now. Described as "one of the pioneers and key figures of British and International Theatre" David Glass is known for his energetic and visceral performances resulting in Total Theatre productions. Featuring the level 3 students from the BA(Hons) Acting programme in collaboration with Diploma in Technical and Production Management and the School of Contemporary Music.
