Since then, natural dyeing has taken a step back as people opt for the faster, more cost-efficient synthetic dyes. Itajime is one of the most popular shibori methods and is commonly recognized as classic shibori. This technique uses pieces of wooden or acrylic shapes as resists. The fabric is usually folded and clamped between two pieces of shape resists. This method will create a distinct, geometric pattern. We will be sharing different folding and clamping methods to achieve motifs. We will also prepare dye baths in advance as we want you to spend all of your time creating your personalized pattern. You will dye and take home an organic cotton tote bag in this workshop!+- Decoupage Art Box (S$30/person)by Art For Good6.30pm - 7.30pm, 8:30pm - 9.30pmDecoupage means cutting in French, and refers to the art or craft of decorating objects with paper cut-outs. The craft is easy and suitable for all ages, young and old alike. We will be using recycled materials and making them into useful and beautiful objects. Most importantly, part of the proceeds from the workshop will go towards our art program with refugees.+- Leather Crafting (S$30/person)by Semicolon Works7pm - 9pm(min. 20 pax to start)In producing the plethora of purchasing options, big industries waste vast amounts of resources; resources which are being depleted, leaving a bleaker future. We believe that through upcycling premium offcuts into fun, sleek yet functional everyday objects, people can learn something about sustainability, but also come to think about how they consume. They would realize that sustainable can be synonymous with premium quality. We hope that people create beautiful things for themselves, but also leave behind a beautiful world. We will each be crafting a coin pouch and key fob for this workshop, so join us for a crafty evening!+- Perfume Making (S$50/person)by Sol+8pm - 9.30pm(max. 15 pax)Learn the basics of making perfumes and get your hands dirty! Enjoy a session where multiple senses will be engaged. Discover your scent, and craft your own unique perfume using all plant-based products and essential oils. At the end of the workshop, participants will bring home their own spray-on perfume creation. Updates tag:peatix.com,2018-10-11 05:08:58 2018-10-11 05:08:58 The event description was updated.
