(English follows)モントリオール交響楽団ソロコンサートマスター。モントリオール響の前にも世界的なオーケストラのコンサートマスターを務め、通算45年間、重要なコンサートマスターの座についている。クリーヴランド音楽院、ケベック音楽院、マギル大学、ミネソタ大学で教佃を取り、フランス国際アカデミー、ロサンゼルスフィル・インスティチュート、メドウマウント音楽学校、ナショナルオーケストラ・インスティチュート、ロンドン王立音楽院、ノースウェスタン大学、カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校、メリーランド大学等でマスタークラスを実施。欧米の国際ヴァイオリンコンクールの審査員でもある。ソリストとしては、モントリオール交響楽団の他にも、クリーヴランド、デトロイト、エドモントン、ミネアポリス、トロント、メルボルンの各交響楽団と共演。昨年は、カナダ建国150周年を記念して東京シンフォニアと初共演した。劇場支配人 序曲 KV 486 (モーツァルト)ヴァイオリン協奏曲 第2番 ニ長調 KV 211 (モーツァルト)ロマンス ヘ短調 (ドヴォルザーク)ヴァイオリン協奏曲 第5番 イ短調 (ヴュータン)スペイン風アリア (サラサーテ)出演者との交流タイムIn our Sinfonia Plus series, once again the Tokyo Sinfonia will shine a spotlight on a splendid performer who has made a deep and lasting contribution to music: Richard Roberts, solo concertmaster of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.He has occupied the concertmaster’s chair in two great orchestras during four and a half decades of a lengthy and distinguished career.He has served on the faculties of the Cleveland Institute of Music, Conservatoire de Musique du Québec, McGill University, NationalOrchestra Institute and the University of Minnesota, and presented masterclasses at l'Academie Internationale de France, IndianaUniversity and Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, and is a jurist for international violin competitions throughout Europe and America.In addition to performing with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra,he has appeared as guest soloist with the Cleveland, Detroit, Edmonton, Melbourne, Minneapolis and Toronto Symphony Orchestras and elsewhere around the globe.
