British Council and Lifelong Learning Institute in partnership with University of DundeePresentEnsuring High Quality Healthcare through EducationA British Council  'Knowledge is GREAT' Lecture in conjunction with Lifelong Learning Institute’s World Speaker SeriesfeaturingProfessor Lynn KilbridgeDean, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, University of DundeeAbout the Lecture:Education is critical to social and economic development and has a profound impact on population health.  Establishing lifelong learning in the healthcare workforce is known to raise standards and quality of care if the standard of education provided is high. High quality education needs to; be research informed, enable critical thinking, innovative and evidence based and if it does not achieve this then the 100 billion dollars (US) that is spent annually on the education of healthcare professionals is wasted.   This talk will discuss high quality education, its critical role in healthcare and society and debate how partnership working is needed to ensure that we optimise resource effectiveness in this area. This belief has been the basis of her academic and scholarly activity and is the foundation of all her working activities. Lynn has extensive experience of developing, delivering and quality assuring healthcare curricula at home and overseas and her expertise in this area has been recognised extensively by public and private organisations, throughout the world. Lynn’s research activity is centred around diabetes and neuro oncology, however she has published in other areas. Lynn holds a number of honorary and consultancy positions at home and overseas and is currently leading on Nursing regulation in Scotland.
