Join Casey Chen and Colin Goh as they discuss the literary potential of our unofficial lingua franca, along with the challenges and opportunities in integrating them into our children's books. This session is a public programme, presented as part of the 9th edition of the Asian Festival of Children's Content.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------About the SpeakersCasey Chen (Singapore)Casey Chen, a multidisciplinary artist who breathes, lives and eats all things aesthetic. Casey has been in the design and art field for over two decades. He is experienced and versatile with various aspects of design, including branding, furniture, jewellery, product design and sculpture. He is the author of three books. Colin Goh (Singapore/Taiwan/USA)Colin Goh is a writer/cartoonist whose work includes the international bestseller Search Inside Yourself. With wife Woo Yen Yen, he created Dim Sum Warriors, a critically-acclaimed bilingual comic and app series which was adapted into a musical that played in Shanghai and 25 major Chinese cities. They also founded the satirical website TalkingCock.com and made the multiple award-winning movie Singapore Dreaming.------------------------------------------------------------------------About the Asian Festival of Children's Content The Asian Festival of Children's Content (AFCC) is a one-of-a-kind festival that aims to promote and celebrate the creation, development, and appreciation of quality Asian content for children. The Singapore Book Council has been organising the Asian Children's Writers and Illustrators Conference since 2000. Leveraging on the success of this conference. it has since expanded to become a premier regional event that brings together esteemed local and international talents including writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, distributors, as well as parents and children. Now in its 9th year running, the SBC is committed to expanding AFCC to boost its capacity, outreach and overall impact.
