We are delighted to host Tony of A Nerd Gallery at The Green Collective's Conscious Christmas Market! Come make textile art with Tony at his popular Batik Beginners Workshop! "Batik is a textile art technique from the Nusantara archipelago where patterns are formed through a repeated process of applying dye-resisting agent (wax commonly), dyeing and wax removal on a piece of cloth. In a special collaboration with The Green Collective, we will transform old cloths into uniquely yours wearable artworks with batik!In this workshop, we will go through the basic techniques of batik making, including:- Designing and transferring the design onto the cloth;- Applying dye-resist agent on to the cloth to create the batik patterns;- Dyeing of textile.- Removing the dye-resist agent.This interactive session will be spiced up with fun facts about batik, including the significance of batik motifs and simple tips to buying, using or storing/protecting your batik collection. This workshop is suitable for beginners, no prior experience is required."Note: Hot wax will be used as the dye-resisting agents. Adult must accompany and adult-child ticket will be required for participants below 12 years old.Min 4 pax required, Max 8 pax.
