We Dare to Care, with a Cup of Tea. Our Prime Minister gave a big thumbs-up for the Hush Experience by our Deaf TeaRistas - he called it unique and reflective. Aren't you curious? Do you dare to care more? (Kok Wah, Deaf Lead Facilitator, Hush)"When I was in my teens, I was ostracised by my peers for being too goody, quiet and neat. The only protection I had was my hot temper to make up for my small and frail body. I once walked out of the group because they didn't appreciate my time and presence. Because of this fiery quirkiness, I lost more than I gained. In Hush, I learn to tame my anger by 'seeing' the silence and applying that to my daily routine. I still have occasional outbursts at my manager and you know what, she always takes my angst in stride and keeps encouraging me to look forward to many tomorrows of joy. She sees something in me that ex-bosses didn't care to see, and gives me opportunities to do and be so much more than just serving trays and washing cups. I am still not sure if I am up to taking up the challenges offered to me by Hush as I have a 'hot' personality. But I do know one thing - I'm calming my anger more in this world of Hush." - Low Kok Wah (Deaf Lead Partner/Facilitator, Hush)  We dare you to come care for yourself, for our everyday heroes, for Singapore at this Hush@Community National Day Special. To celebrate 53 years of nationhood, we will give each participant one of our TeaMoods (now valued at $30 each) with our love and compliments. Your participation will also allow us to invite an everyday hero to come share space in silence and solidarity with you and the Deaf. This is Singapore. We Care. ❤"Nice!" - Prime Minister Lee showed his support and gave his blessings in our advocacy to promote inclusion, community empowerment and self care at the Jan 2018 SG Cares Carnival."To be honest, this (Hush) session has been the most memorable and very very special experience in my life. It's the first time I feel the inner peace within me. I was very emotional and inspired by the experience." - Jason Kuan (Everyday Hero/Active Youth Volunteer; Differently-Abled/Austism Spectrum Disorder, Depression) "Being part of this experience with Hush provides me with that quiet space to sharpen my caregiving focus whilst allowing me the opportunity to reconnect with society. This brings back that little bit of sanity for me." - Phua Wee Seng (Everyday Hero/Father and Caregiver of Wenjie who suffers from a rare genetic disorder and requires round-the-clock care) "It was amazing. This was the first time I came into such a session which I don't know what to do or say but when the Deaf taught me to communicate in sign language, teh more I understand how to engage with different people. I felt love and respected." - Airis Valdez (Everyday Hero/Domestic Worker)"I heard silence and felt stillness for the first time at the Hush Experience. It was a profoundly peaceful feeling since I still deal with my issues on a daily basis" - Chia Xun An (Everyday Hero/Youth Mental Health Advocate; Differently-Abled/Depression & Borderline Personality Disorder)"I really had a great Hush experience. It was soothing and interactive at the same time. I remember my fellow participant shared how he felt like the Deaf folks were actually the ones being inclusive of us - bringing us into their world, rather than us being inclusive of them." - James Cai (Everyday Hero/Graphic Designer; Wheelchair User/Arthrogryposis Condition) "I have been feeling really stressed out at work and with issues at home. The one word that came to me was 'congruent' after the Hush Experience. The quiet moment with myself gave me the space to breathe easier and allow myself to come together to where I am now, with my pregnancy and all." - Everyday Hero/Social Worker and An Expectant Mother+++++  Hush@Community: We Dare to Care.
