He also touches on the importance of community and industry ties in the dance world - a valuable perspective for all aspiring professional dancers! The audience will also hear from Nicholas Six as well as Goh Xiang Tian, both well-traveled and acquainted with the dance scene in countries such as New Zealand, China and Japan. This is a free admissions event, limited slots available so book your tickets now!Nicholas SixHaving started break dancing since 1999 in Auckland, New Zealand, Nicholas is the co founder of Loko Motion bboy crew and Triple 8 Funk dance Company, in which he co-created with Joel Gallarde Fuentes. Through the early to late 2000s, Loko Motion and Triple 8 funk would often work together, doing televised shows and dance competitions and their success lead them to compete in world renowned competitions such as Hip Hop International and Freestyle Session at the time. Nicholas would then proceed to move to Singapore in the year 2010, where he began working at Recognize Studios and soon after became the founder of Jam Republic, a worldwide network of promotors and studios around the globe, based in 26 different countries. Currently, he also helms Jam Republic The Agency, which manages artists and crews like the Kinjaz, Lyle Beniga and Rie Hata to name a few and is the co- organizer of Asia’s biggest annual dance camp, Summer Jam Dance Camp, along with Felix Huang.Trevor TakemotoTrevor Takemoto began dancing at 8 years old in his hometown of Sacramento, California. Since then Trevor has trained extensively in all styles across the United States while working closely with various industry & community choreographers. Since moving to Los Angeles, California in 2014, Trevor has been fortunate enough to work with artists such as Chance The Rapper, Zendaya, The Chainsmokers, and Vic Mensa. As well as travel with The PULSE on Tour dance convention as an Elite Protege. Trevor, who is currently 21 years old is a member of The Young Lions, a group started by Ian Eastwood, and most recently seen on NBC's World of Dance. He is also a weekly teacher at the Kinjaz Dojo, founded by Anthony Lee and Mike Song. In the past two years Trevor has began teaching not only in LA, but across the United States and overseas, and hopes to continue teaching and inspiring other young creatives like him.Goh Xiang TianGoh Xiang Tian is a Singapore based professional dancer, choreographer, founder of Empire (Dance team) and currently a lecturer in LASALLE College of the Arts. Xiang Tian started dancing in 2007 and in these 11 years acquired skills in various genres with isolation choreography being his style of choice. He has represented Singapore in numerous international competitions such as World Supremacy Battlegrounds in Melbourne and Japan Dance Delight Vol. 17 and 18. Xiang Tian’s teaching experiences extents beyond Singapore, teaching at renowned dance institutions such as his month long residency with Sinostage in Cheng Du teaching at the Kinjaz Dojo as well as Quick Style studio and his collaborations with Legacy Dance Team from EF Studios in Manila, Philippines. Despite his experiences and accolades, Xiang Tian found that his months training in LA (2016) and Japan (2013) during his sabbatical were the most pivotal in shaping him as a student, teacher and artist. He often quotes “In dance, we are forever students.”
