A critical platform for excellence and diverse thought in moving images, the selection is overseen by a panel of respected professionals across Singapore's film industry. Alongside screenings of the selected cinematic works, the programme also features post-screening discussions with the filmmakers, dedicated reviews from critics and a special section of older titles from the Asian Film Archive's collection.Singapore Shorts '18 will be held at the Gallery Theatre, National Museum of Singapore from 13 - 15 July 2018. Selection Panel:Read the full Selection Notes here: bit.ly/singaporeshorts2018Chew Tee Pao Archivist, Asian Film Archive Tee Pao has been with the Asian Film Archive (AFA) since 2009. As Archivist, he oversees the development of the film collection and helps to plan the Archive’s preservation strategies. He is responsible for selecting and overseeing AFA’s film restorations. Tee Pao curates various film progammes including the popular Alt Screen at the National Library Building. He has contributed articles on film preservation and co-written a chapter on "Independent digital filmmaking and its impact on film archiving in Singapore" for the book Singapore Cinema: New Perspectives. As a former filmmaker, his short films have competed at the Singapore International Film Festival and the IFVA Festival. Dinesh Pasrasurum Assistant Director, Singapore Film CommissionDinesh is the Assistant Director at the Singapore Film Commission, a division under the Info-Communications Media Development Authority, where he oversees the promotion of Singapore films and thinking of ways to drive film awareness to audiences. His past work experience include film classification with the Media Development Authority. A postgrad from the Film Program of Columbia University, Dinesh is interested in sharing the joys of cinema with those he crosses paths with. Leong Puiyee Manager, Objectifs Centre for Photography and FilmPuiyee is a manager at Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film, where she is responsible for the film programmes and projects. She has managed film events such as the Singapore Short Film Awards, cINE65 Short Film Competition and the Fly By Night Video Challenge. She is also the Programme Manager (Short Films) for the 2014 to 2018 Singapore International Film Festival. She was part of the pre-selection committee of the inaugural SEAShorts Film Festival 2017 in Malaysia. An occasional zine artist, Puiyee has taken part in the 2013 Tokyo Art Book Fair and Print Lab: Art and Design publication exhibition under Grey Projects.  Low Zu BoonIndependent Film ProgrammerZu Boon loves to watch, write and present cinema, and he remains severely in debt to the medium’s possibilities. He worked as a film programmer at the National Museum of Singapore Cinematheque (2011-2015) and the Singapore International Film Festival (2015-2018). He spends just as much time-consuming music, and recently started Worthless Dispatch, a limited-run cassette tape label. Sam I-shan Curator, National Gallery Singapore Sam I-shan is a curator at National Gallery Singapore. Previously, she was curator at the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) and Esplanade Visual Arts, focusing on the moving image and photography from Southeast Asia and wider Asia. At the Esplanade, she organised new commissions and curated site-specific exhibitions with a range of regional artists. Exhibitions she curated at SAM included Afterimage: Contemporary Photography in Southeast Asia (2014) and the APB Foundation Signature Art Prize (2015). She was also a programmer for Artist Films (2011–12) and the Southeast Asian Film Festival (2011–15) at SAM, as well as an award recipient of the JENESYS Programme for Creators Residency (2012) in Japan.
